CHRISTmas!!!

Christmas is absolutely my favorite time of the year! All the decorations, the lights, buying gifts for others and watching their face light up with excitement as they open them, spending time with family and friends, but most importantly celebrating the birth of our Savior!!!

Our weekend was great! Early Christmas eve morning we drove to Felsenthal to see Nana and Papa. We had breakfast and Ashleigh opened some of her gifts. She got a soccer goal, a Dora flashlight, a tooth fairy kit, a blanket and pillow, a big book! She had so much fun opening her prizes!!

On Christmas eve night we went to Mamaw's house. This is always fun because not only do we eat and open gifts, but Mamaw always has games planned and we always sing and read the Christmas story. Our Christmas carol always include the Star Spangled Banner. Why??? I don't know!!! That's just how we roll! Ashleigh also showed everyone how to call the hogs!!! She was a big hit!!

Christmas morning we opened gifts as a family. Ashleigh was very excited to see her Barbie jeep with all her prizes inside! She grabbed one gift and began to open. There were a pair of shinny, sparkly Toms. She squealed with excitement and said, "Ewwwww pretty shoes!!!" I'm pretty sure she liked them. She also got some ornaments, a potty training kit, some DVDs, and a big picture bible story book.

We then began to get ready for church. Mom, Jacob, and Hannah went to church with us. Mom really wanted to go together so we all went and celebrated together. After church, we had lunch at mom's house and opened gifts there. Ashleigh got some clothes, a basketball goal, an ornament, and a home depot apron!!

We stayed at mom's for quite a while but had to go home because Ashleigh was so tired and really needed a nap. We got home and I told her she needed to go to sleep so when she woke up we would have Christmas with Pop Pop. She finally fell asleep and I started preparing for Christmas with Dad! It was our last Christmas celebration of the weekend and Ashleigh had so much fun! She has always been shy around Dad and Jacob, but here lately she has really come around. Dad got Ashleigh a Minnie and Mickey mouse, which she absolutely loved!! She also got an inch worm that she rode all over the house. We have several videos I will have to post later. She had a blast!!

All in all we had a wonderful weekend celebrating Jesus' birth and spending time with our wonderful family! We still have one Christmas left to celebrate on New Year's with Johnnie and JoAnna. I know Ashleigh cannot wait to see them!! :)
